We as university student, we need to realize that we are already exit the highschool era and enter the university era where we need to be wise indetermining something whether it is good or not. We need to be ready in our physical and mental to solve our our own challenges wisely. In the university life, there is no one will take care of you, it is on your own and you will start learning how to manage yourself properly. There is no mom, dad or your siblings will be watching or guide you but they will always pray for your successful life in future. Also, we need to remember, why did you come into the university and why we futher our study in here. This is because there are many differences between your highschool era and your university era.

I think when i am entering the University era, one of the most difficult things to do is schedule study time. In High School era, you spent more time in class than you do now that you are in collage. In collage, it is up to you to make sure you are studying as much as you need to. Managing your time effectively is crucial to you success in your future.

*5.2 Memory strategies
- Memory strategies, why it is important? Memory strategies will help students in their encoding, storing and retrieving the information.
- To improve our memory is we can massed the practice vs spaced practice, break reading material down for some period time. Example, 2 chapters per day, not all the chapters a day before the exam day. Always rehearsal, repeat the information many time and elaboration the strategies.
*5.3 Reading / Study system (SQ3R)
- Reading academic materials are different from general reading tasks. Using a study system can help in comprehending reading academic materials due to three factors which is, active learning strategies, use of multisensory methods and immediate steps for self-testing and review.
- SQ3R is a short form for SURVEY, QUESTION and READ - RECITE - REVIEW. Survey stands for students review the next to gain initial meaning from the title, subtitle, chapter introduction or lead-in, boldfaced headings, graphs, charts, picture, the final paragraph or summary and end - of - chapter material. Next, Question stands for student try to form questions based on the preview. Other than that, Read stands for as students read, they need to look for answers to the questions they formed during their preview of the text. Recite stands for after each section, pause. Students will attempt to answer questions formed earlier. Lastly, Review stands for after you have finished reading the whole reading assignment, refer back to each heading. Recall your questions and try to answer them.
TOPIC 6: TAKING LECTURE NOTES
*6.1 Taking Lecture notes
- Why do we need to take lecture notes? This is because we can promotes active listening, provides an accurate record of information, helps you organize the information and provides additional repetition.
- Why we should edit our notes? This is because to get feedback on your note taking, get an accurate record of the information, to organize the information in your notes, to review both the text and lecture material and integrate the course material and prepares your notes for later review by adding recall questions in the margin
*6.2 Effective Note - Taking systems
- There's are 5 types of Note - Taking methods you need to learn which is Cornell method, Outline method, Mapping method, Charting method and Boxing method.

- Always note all headings - the main point - that are made during aa lecture. The details we can add is any facts or explanations that expand or explain the main points that are mentioned. The definitions, word by word, especially if your lecturer repeats the several times. Enumerations or lists of things that are discussed, example, you don't need to note all of the details for each example, BUT you need to know to which general topic each example relates.
- Always use the APA format. This is because to allows readers to cross - references your sources easily. Next, to provides consistent format within a discipline. Other than that, it can gives you credibility as a writer and lastly, it can protects yourself from plagiarism

TOPIC 7: Academy Integrity and Performance
*7.1 Avoiding Plagiarism
- Plagiarism is an act of using
or closely imitating the
language and thoughts of
another author without
authorization and the
representation of that
author’s work as one’s own,
as by not crediting the
original author
*7.2 Preventing Plagiarism
- When quoting a source, use the
quote exactly the way it appears. If
the quotation is relatively short
(usually fewer than 3 lines or 40
words), those word must be
enclosed in quotation marks.
- One of the most important ways to
avoid plagiarism is referencing.
Include a reference page or page of
works cited at the end of your
paper. Check guidelines for citing
sources properly.
- If you are discussing the ideas of
more than one person, be careful
with confusing pronouns. Always
make sure to differentiate who said
what, and give credit to the right
person.
- Lastly, to paraphrase, you must change
both the words and the sentence
structure of the original, without
changing the content.
*7.3 Calculating Grade Point Average
- The final examination results
and assessments at the end of
every semester are assigned as
Grade Point Average (GPA)
and Cumulative Grade Point
Average (CGPA) which
represent student’s academic
